Another hot summer weekend

Went on a spur-of-the-moment, mini road trip to the mountains with my out-of-town guest late Friday for some sightseeing and to get away from the heat in the city. As a challenge to myself, I didn't bring my laptop with me (so silly). Apologies to anyone trying to reach me over the weekend. But it was a great get-away, and everyone had fun! And in case you are wondering, the couple on the bike were infront of us part of the trip, and I took this picture through the windshield to show how hot it was from the sun-tan/burn on her arms within a short time... Now I want a Harley too!
Drove to Canon City and spend some time at the Royal Gorge. We did the train, cable car, skycoaster (no!), and lots of walking. Crossing the bridge was a little nerve-racking with the wind blowing, cars driving next to you, and the wooden planks shaking beneath. Took this shot from the cable car.
After Canon City, we headed towards Aspen for another fun-filled day before heading back home. I loved the clear blue sky and the ski-slopes right behind the downtown area. And Z's Cafe was a great place to hang out and people-watch. Was there on a Sunday morning, and there were no celebrity sightings yet. But I did come across a couple of asians and overhearing their conversation in Hokkien! I should probably title this Hokkien in Aspen. LOL!

Good thing you explained, cause I thought the girl on the bike was you!

Now you mentioned it, I can really see the sunburn on her arm, ouch!

What a nice road trip, I like Aspen town too and Royal Gorge will be our next trip. :)

Ah, take me along. We are stuck in this gloomy rainy weather almost everyday. What a summer vacation for us.

Dear V,

I have been to these places. My husband and I used to drive to Colorado when we were still living in Texas.

Hi Alice,
Come, come and play with me in Colorado!

Hi Lee Ping,
I keep forgetting that you used to live in Texas. Alot of Texans travel all the time! :)

Hi Blurmommy,
Royal Gorge is nice, but only a portiion of the size of the Grand Canyon. You should come visit someday!
